It’s fairly common knowledge that BioShock is a spiritual successor to one of Irrational’s older games, System Shock 2, but Gaynor and his team took that a step further. I even remember coming across the game during my playthrough, and I didn’t make the connection, even though I’ve also played through Minerva’s Den (several times - it’s really good). In Gone Home, its sequel, Super Spitfire, can be found inside the house. In BioShock 2’s excellent Minerva’s Den DLC, you can find a video game called Spitfire. They did this by linking the games through subtle reference that most gamers are sure to have missed.
